Britain has long been a popular destination for undergraduate study by students all around the world. Many people choose the UK because of the high standards and undisputed quality you'll receive there. Britain operates a unique Quality Assurance system to oversee the quality of courses and the academic standards of higher education institutions. It ensures accountability in all areas - from student support services to the quality of the teaching staff, every institution is subject to rigorous scrutiny by the government, thereby ensuring highest level of quality at all times. The Teaching Assessment Exercise results allow you to compare the relative strengths of each institution's provision in your chosen subject area. Another popular reason is that British qualifications are widely recognised and prestigious. Over the years, Britain has developed an age-old tradition of welcoming international students and making them feel at home. At some institutions, this tradition goes back centuries. With more than 400 universities, and colleges to choose from, all equipped with extensive library, research and computer facilities, Britain is able to offer a broad spectrum of subjects from the highly academic to the purely practical in anything from architecture to zoology. Many universities offer modular courses where students can combine different subjects.
